Ocono (formerly Schauenburg Hose Technology Group) is expanding its product portfolio to include another industry: aquaculture. We are now pleased to offer five certified hose solutions for various applications in aquaculture, certified to the Norwegian standard NS9416:2013!
What is Aquaculture, and Why is it Important?
Aquaculture refers to the controlled farming of fish and seafood. In recent years, it has emerged as a key solution for meeting the growing global demand for fish and seafood. Traditional methods of wild-caught fishing and seafood harvesting face challenges such as overfishing and environmental issues. In response, aquaculture has become an increasingly popular practice in recent years, as it not only helps secure the global food supply but also contributes to the conservation of endangered species. The requirements for controlled land-based farming are high. In many applications, compliance with the Norwegian standard NS 9416:2013 is mandatory. This is a specific regulation for implementing technical standards in the field of land-based aquaculture facilities to prevent the risk of escape—particularly of fish—from these facilities.
