History
The history of Ocono VACUFLEX GmbH goes back to 1953. Since then, the company has developed from a specialist manufacturer of highly flexible, spiral-reinforced hoses, fittings and tubing made from thermoplastic materials into a technically strong partner for a wide range of applications. Over the years, expertise, locations and solutions have been continuously expanded – with a clear focus on quality, further development and application-oriented hose systems.
The following milestones illustrate how today’s Ocono VACUFLEX GmbH has evolved from these beginnings.
Strong Roots
1953 - Founding of VACUFLEX GmbH
The history of what is now Ocono VACUFLEX GmbH began with its founding in 1953. From the very start, the company has focused on the manufacture of highly flexible, spiral-reinforced hoses, sleeves and tubing made from thermoplastics.

1999
Transition to the Schauenburg Hose Technology Group (now Ocono)
In 1999, VACUFLEX GmbH (now Ocono VACUFLEX GmbH) moved from Continental to what was then the Schauenburg Hose Technology Group (now Ocono). This marked the start of a new chapter, in which the company’s existing technical expertise was integrated into a broader industrial environment and further development was specifically strengthened.
New production lines and products were developed, synergies arising from the new group affiliation were expanded, and the scale of the market presence was enhanced in conjunction with technological advancements.
2013 - 2018
Founding of VACUFLEX Advanced Hoses Ltd. in China | Founding of VACUFLEX Hose Technology Co. Ltd. in China (now Ocono China)
The founding of a new sales office in Guangzhou in 2013 expands the company’s international presence in China. This step strengthens proximity to additional markets and broadens the international footprint. At the same time, production capacities are being expanded and the newly tapped market environment, together with the associated expertise and technological developments, is being utilised to create synergies in Germany and across Europe.
The establishment of a production site in Huzhou in 2018 further expands the presence in China. This creates additional production capacity and an even stronger international focus.
At the same time, efforts relating to sustainability and Environmental Social Governance are being continuously stepped up across all companies.
2024
New Central Warehouse
With the Central Warehouse, which opened in 2024, Ocono VACUFLEX GmbH is specifically expanding its logistical capabilities to include additional capacity and more efficient processes. Covering a total area of around 3,700 m² with 2,600 Euro-pallet spaces and 1,640 CP1 spaces, the new warehouse will significantly relieve the pressure on the Mörfelden production site, centralise goods receipt and dispatch, and at the same time open up new opportunities for development and expansion at the site.
April 2026
New Company Name and Brand
Following a comprehensive rebranding process, Ocono VACUFLEX GmbH (formerly Vacuflex GmbH) has been operating under a new brand name since April 2026. The aim is to better harness synergies within Ocono’s (formerly Schauenburg Hose Technology Group) individual production and sales units, both nationally and internationally, for the benefit of customers. For customers, partners and our own employees, this is a groundbreaking step into the future – consistent and with many synergy effects.
Today, Ocono VACUFLEX GmbH stands for many years of experience, high technical precision and a clear specialisation in plastic hoses and plastic hose assemblies. The company manufactures in Germany and China and develops both standard ranges and customised solutions for sectors such as the automotive industry, floor cleaning, woodworking, mechanical and plant engineering, food processing, and medical and dental technology.
